Topic: Library Automation in Germany: More a Glimpse than the State of
the Art Review
Speaker: Dr. Achim Osswald

Venue: NCSI Seminar Hall, NCSI, IISc.
About the talk: The presentation will look back at Library Automation in
Germany and will then focus on the major players at present: The German
National Library and supporting subject based libraries, the Cooperative
Library Networks, there role in Library Automation and their services
offered.
About the speaker: Dr. Achim Osswald is a professor at University of
Applied Sciences Cologne, Department of Library and Information Science
(now: Institute of Information Science ), Germany. Currently, he is at
the DRTC, ISI, Bangalore, as a visiting scientist. The complete CV of
