Dear All PubMed users can now see the icon that links to the full text deposited at an institutional repository (IR) using LinkOut https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/projects/linkout/. The LinkOut service allows you to link to full text, library holdings, and other relevant external resources from PubMed and other NCBI databases. This is great news. On the other hand the sad part is that barely approximately 10 libraries in India have created a PubMed linkout for their journals. We at QMed have tried to push hard to make this happen, but we managed to help two libraries fully, guide one who did it all by themselves with broad guidance from us, and one who started it. (I am not sure if they finished it). When they have not done Journals link out, there is no question of their linking a repository. I do wish all Indian health science libraries work on the PubMed Linkout for their journals as well as repositories. It would be a huge option for ILL activities to thrive!
