Dear sir/Madam, We have Urkund software for Thesis plagiarism checking. When i checked the theses every time report shows only 2-4 % similarity. I told that i am checking properly. I am also unable to understand report completely. Again i want to know if i have checked thesis and researcher want to submit after correction again then how i can remove first version of his/her thesis to avoid 100% similarity. Kindly guide me in details. You should not submit the document in the repository in the first instance
itself. Else it will check similarity with itself and show hundred percent
similarity. If document has been submitted in repository in error, you can
get it removed by writing to software which us quite cumbersome. They may
respond at their own timing.
Reports are self explanatory and have to be read with little care.
Similarity with Plagiarised text or so is clearly delineated . Similarity
Upton ten percent is normally acceptable in most of universities. Hence no
cause of concern. However as compared to Turn it in the repository of
Urkund with which similarity is compared us not comprehensive, hence may
leave some scope of not detecting a possible Plagiarised content. Hope it
clarifies the issue. Tariq

Sir,
100% similarity is reported when the same document sent more than once.
When we click on the link https://secure.urkund.com/view
https://secure.urkund.com/view/30012257-609408-978233 to open the
analysis, the report is generated in two paras. On the right is the
original as submitted by the scholar and to the left the matching portion
is shown. All matches are highlighted and if we click on any of these
highlighted portions the related matches will appear on the screen.
To the top of the report, the cross-references are displayed. These are
those sources which the Urkund software has fetched as matching to some
portions of the document.
If the authorized user/official is sure that the 100% matching is on
account of the repeated postings, the click mark in the right hand box may
be clicked out.
The matching is also shown as high if the scholar has used her own already
published research paper/s as part of the document. Verified copies of
those published research papers may be asked as proof. Again the click
marks within the parentheses may be clicked out to get a proper report.
However, the scholar may be instructed to give proper citations to all
those passages which belong to other published sources.
Our practice at Jamia Hamdard Library, New Delhi is to supply a certificate
to the scholar giving the matching ratio for the documents which is
countersigned by the Librarian, the Supervisor and the Scholar.
Thanks,
