Firstly Govenment should take initiative in resloving supporting staff for the librarians. Recently we Had discussion, which was coducted in JSS Women College, Mysore with Joint Director(Mysore division) with all Government degree colleges Librarians. But Our Expectation to the queries/issues which we raised to JD was not convincing way. i want to Enlighten those Issues. 1) We are facing Supporting Staff ------Answer by JD(u need to appoint local people by paying 1000 rs. for short time whenever u require, mean when u purchase books /During grants procurement time) 2) whether we can refer books to library---------Librarian is not right to purchase books, but layman or peon can also refer books to library. 3) whether we can give books to Guest facutly--------u can give, but u should cal and get back those pending books with personal interest and u should mointor with proper records. 4) like these so many issues were raised during the interaction session and it has been organised by KSLA, by kadadevarmath with continuing sessions in all other divisions as i heard. This is the tragedy how the librarians are treated and handled in our government colleges and were we put across. All our professionalists are ready to give their best to our society by contributing their knowledge and efforts to enrich the library and profession. So my humble request is firstly we need to form our own community(GOvernment college Librarians) in all districts who can raise our voices in Head Offices(departments/govenments/UGC etc) which can resolve our many problems with short span of time. As we are having so many communities, still we want especially for govenment colleges to raise a voice with proper agenda with the media help/press. And we need realize our senior professionals efforts to come under Grade "B" and lot more benefits and we need to fight with Organized way to raise our voices. As our Friend raised in Automation many of our colleges have given computers to Librarians and many more internal issues.
