In this Digital age, privacy is a major issue as every aspect of our personal and professional lives have been invaded by the Information Technologies. With the advent of Big Data and Internet of Things, a large amount of data is collected from the users and then analysed to provide individual specific services and even going to the extent of predicting what they want in the future. There are privacy concerns regarding how Businesses and Internet websites collect and use the personal data to provide the users with content according to their individual needs. Here the privacy is not the only concern, data security and protection are also major issues. The domain of Privacy partially overlaps with Security and Protection. In this seminar, the various frameworks regarding data privacy and data protection shall be discussed along with the data protection laws that exist followed by the various data anonymization techniques to anonymize data.
