In todays society, there are lots of data and information available from different sources. From them, we should be able to choose the accurate and authenticate data. Data quality implies state of the data, that is whether it is high or low (accurate or not for a particular purpose) quality data. Only when the data is genuine, it can serve its purpose. So it is always important to check the data quality before using it. This will help in making the right decision and hence improve the result. In this colloquium, we will discuss the need and importance of data quality, its evolution. The framework, process involved in data quality assessment, the features and types of data quality tools, how to select the right tool and also the issues and challenges in providing high-quality data.
