Dear LIS Friends, *Sharing the report on Workshop on Understanding Reference Tools for your kind information. * ‘Plagiarism is in rampant in academic writings’ said Dr. Gopakumar, Chief Librarian, Goa University, Goa. ‘Acknowledge the source of information and help avoiding plagiarism menace’ was the advice given by him to the studies while talking to the students in a workshop on ‘Understanding reference tools: Mendeley and Endnote’ organized by Karnataka State Library Association (KALA) in collaboration with Mysore Librarians and Information Scientists Association (MyLISA) and Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), Mysuru, at SJCE on Sunday, June 21, 2015. Dr. Gopakumar introduced and demonstrated the features the popular Open Source reference tool Mendeley from Elsevier and Endnote from Thomson Reuters. He demonstrated the techniques of collecting references, organizing them, and use them in Microsoft Word. Students, researchers and faculty members from various academic institutes of Mysuru participated in this workshop. Sri. K.L. Basappa, Chief Librarian, SJCE, Mysuru, welcomed the gathering, Dr. P.
