Laksda Adisucipto Yogyakarta, 55221, Indonesia ------------------------------ It gives us great pleasure to inform you that next International Conference of Asian Special Libraries (ICoASL 2017) on Curation and Management of Cultural Heritage through Libraries: Challenges and Opportunities for the Digital Society will be held on 10-12 May 2017 at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. ICoASL 2017 will be an excellent opportunity for all including Librarians, Information Professionals, Researchers and Practitioners to share experiences, ideas, research results, meeting and networking. Don’t miss out on the many opportunities which will allow you to share your experiences and learn from other professionals. The principle objective of this event is to provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge and skills relevant to students, professors and Information professionals. This conference will offer an opportunity to put forward innovative plans, debate classic ideas, and promote closer cooperation among colleagues. It will solicit high quality research papers and provide an international forum for researchers, developers and practitioners to present applied and theoretical research findings. *Conference Theme* The conference aims to address the main issues of concern within the framework of Curation and Management of Cultural Heritage through Libraries: Challenges and Opportunities for the Digital Society issues. Some of the important areas, which conference intends to engage itself with are listed below: TOPICS: The following topics, but not limited to, are strongly encouraged. The following topics, but not limited to, are strongly encouraged. Collection management, organization of information, preservation and conservation, digital curation, archiving, open access, linked open data, repositories, disclosure of information, information commons, intellectual property, etc. How can the libraries serve and educate the community to learn the cultural heritage? Customer satisfaction: addressing clients’ changing needs and demands to be able to provide more responsive client services, user-friendliness, research assist, personalized service, customized service, service evaluation, public relations and marketing, service design, communication, social media, digital library solutions, etc. How can the librarians increase their competencies beyond the profession? New functions of the libraries, new roles of the librarians, continuing education, subject specialist, data librarian, user training, information literacy, social status of librarians, the future of the profession, library related legislations, etc. Collaboration, cooperation and partnership among colleagues, institutions and business entities; going beyond the box: The role of public relations and marketing strategies to help promote the library; and Ethics and professionalism in library and information services: Preparing, developing and strategizing leadership to bring about a culture of values and sense of accountability in the future leaders of LIS. Participants are invited to contribute papers for presentation on the above themes and related aspects. The papers should be based on research surveys; case studies or action plans rather than theoretical explanations. Papers are to be sent to Conference Secretariat at: icoasl2017@gmail.com. Submission of full papers (not more than 6 pages) with an abstract in approximately 200 words, keywords and references as per Author’s Guide viven in the website at http://icoasl2017.uin-suka.ac. id/index.php/author-s-guide. The paper submitted must not have been previously published or presented elsewhere. The Programme Committee will have the right to edit the papers. Selected papers will be published in the proceedings.
