Cooperation Among Libraries Within the Same Geographic Region The American Library Association International Papers Committee invites proposals for papers for the ALA Annual Conference to be held in Washington, D.C. from June 21 through June 27, 2007. The International Papers Program provides librarians with an opportunity to exchange information about library services and collections throughout the world. The program also serves to stimulate the interest of U.S. librarians in international library matters. The 2007 International Papers Program theme is Cooperation among Libraries within the Same Geographic Region (for example, Latin America, Eastern Europe, West Africa, etc.). The IRRT Papers Committee invites librarians to submit papers that describe regional library cooperative programs that enhance user services; improve access to collections; serve as models for resource-sharing; increase efficiency in bibliographic control; collaborates preservation projects; or demonstrate application of emerging technologies. Other topics pertaining to geographic regional cooperative programs will be considered as well.
