Dear Professionals I have been requested to post the availability of a professional library position at the Auroville library, Auroville, near Pondicherry. As many of you would already know, Auroville is an international village conceptualized by the Mother, a prime disciple of Sri Aurobindo. The Auroville library serves the community in Auroville and nearby areas and has an eclectic collection of books on various subjects in English, Tamil, and other European languages. The Library is already automated and in fact networked with one other library in Auroville with plans for others to follow. The position is for a candidate who has the following: 1. Must have a M.L.I.Sc degree preferably with a first class, 2. Must have had working experience of cataloguing and classification for at least 3 years in a library, 3. Must be able to read, write and speak well in Tamil, 4. Exposure to computers and library automation and knowledge of other European languages are desirable qualifications.
