Dear all In fact, the view expressed by Prof. Mangla has already been discussed by one of the senior most LIS teachers, Prof. M. R. Riswadkar in a lecture at Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune. However, personally I feel, the change of nomenclature may adversely affect fundamental research on some basic LIS subjects like classification, universe of subjects, information science etc. But in practice, exactly the same is happening throughout the country, so I also feel that the name of the course should be Library and Information Management (or Information and Library Management) whatever it may be.
