Max Mueller Bhavan Bangalore takes pleasure in inviting you to a lecture on: Library and Information Sciences Education – in India and Germany by Dr I.K.Ravichandra Rao Head, Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) & Head, Documentation & Research Training Centre (DRTC), Bangalore Dr Ravichandra Rao was part of a delegation of select Library and Information Science (LIS) professionals from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan that went on a Study Tour to Germany organised by Max Mueller Bhavan, New Delhi. The aim of this tour was to provide first-hand experience of the LIS education system in Germany and to gain insights as to how the practical aspects of LIS training are implemented, and have been incorporated in the teaching methodology. Dr Rao will share his experiences with us and the lecture will be followed by discussion over refreshments.
