Please find here a news item in today's PIB's news releases: "LINKING UP OF CENTRAL LIBRARIES Rajya Sabha The Government proposes to create an integrated bibliographic database of the Naitonal Librar, Kolkata, Central Secretariat Library, New Delhi and other major libraries. Towards this end, electronic bibliographical database is being created at select libraries, which will be subsequently linked. This was stated by Ms. Ambika Soni, Minister for Tourism and Culture in a reply to a question by S/Shri Balavant alias Bal Apte and Shreegopal Vyas in Rajya Sabha today. She further stated that the said project of retro-conversion of existing catalogues of selected libraries is anticipated to cost around Rs. 10.00 crore during the Tenth Plan. The Project is in its preliminary stage, she added."
