All libraries, irrespective of whether they are public, academic, or special, are community Libraries. Library Professionals should create awareness about their resources and services among the users through all the means of communication. Traditionally, marketing is used as a tool to create the awareness and promote the library resources and services. Library professionals positive attitude towards marketing is a prerequisite for a successful plan and execution. Modern techniques have given an opportunity to promote the effective use of the resources. For example, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, instant messaging, etc., can be used to foster the usage of the resources and services. In this seminar, we will discuss the idea of Library Marketing, the strategies and the various tools and technologies that are in use for marketing in libraries in India and Worldwide.
