Given improvement in computer graphics technology the usage of infographics has been the norm. Inforgraphics in a nutshell is conveying information via the usage of graphics technology. Data driven infographics on the other hand look at how infographics is tailored based on the data available to produced best information dissemination. The speaker will give an overview on infographics in perspective of information technology. Several techniques being used to implement data driven infographics will also be evaluated. This is followed by discussion on the latest research conducted in the area. To conclude, the speaker will touch on the future trends of the data driven infographics technology. About the Speaker: =============== Dr. Fakhrul Hazman Yusoff is a senior lecturer in Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Science (FSKM), Universiti Teknology MARA (UiTM). He graduated with B.Sc. (Management – Information System) from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Ohio, USA in 1998. He earned his M.Sc. (Information Technology) from Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia in 2001 and obtained his Ph. D in Computer Graphics in 2010 also from Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia. His PhD research work was modeling of head movement during facial expression. His research interest includes computer graphics, gamification and game development. Dr. Fakhrul currently leads an academic-based research entity known as Spatial Visual Analytics Group (SVAG). The group activity focuses on enriching life via graphics and multimedia technology. Among the projects that he initiated under this entity include Animated Infographics as Icon in Queue Numbering System, The Enjoyment Design of Augmented Reality Based Gamification for Learning Environment, Sound Visualization as a tool for anxiety alleviation during Waiting Room environment, Quranic-Based Sound-Induced Visualization, Emotional Conditioning Sound-Induced Visualization, Non-Planar Parametric Visualization, Digital Storytelling of Historical Event by Collaborating Augmented Reality, Learning French via Tablet, Large Screen Non-Planar Projection System. Dr. Fakhrul is an active member of IEEE under Malaysia Computer Chapter. He was former IEEE Malaysia Computer Chapter Chair between 2014-2015. He had organized various activities under IEEE banner inclusive of talks, workshop and conferences. He is the General Chair for International Conference on Open Systems (ICOS) for the year 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. He is also the General Chair for International Conference on e-Learning, e-Management and e-Services (IC3e) for the year 2014 and 2015. Likewise he is the General Chair for International Conference on Wireless Sensors (ICWiSE) for the year 2014 and 2015. Overall, Dr. Fakhrul always keen to learn new things.
