From: Paul Vierkant Date: 08 May 2026 Email: paul.vierkant@datacite.org Dear colleagues, The DataCite member community is growing, and we invite you to join us! We’re holding a Membership Essentials webinar on May 7 for research organizations to learn more about membership options and how they can use DataCite services to make their research outputs and activities more open and discoverable. DataCite’s updated membership model provides an opportunity to align institutional participation with the long-term sustainability of shared, community-driven infrastructure that benefits the broader research ecosystem. The webinar is for all organizations interested in joining the DataCite community. During the event, we will introduce the available membership pathways, discuss why we’re moving away from a DOI-based pricing model to a collective funding approach, and share examples of how DataCite members are contributing to and benefiting from open infrastructure for research. DataCite staff will be present for Q&A, and a webinar recording will be made available afterwards.
