Dear All,
There is a library in Tamilnadu at Thanjavur named Saraswati mahal Library. Here the details about that library
The Thanjavur Maharaja Serfoji's Sarasvati Mahal Library is one among a few medieval libraries existing in the world. It is an unparalleled repository of culture and an inexhaustible treasure house of knowledge built up by successive dynasties of Nayaks and the Marathas of Thanjavur. It contains very rare and valuable collections of manuscripts, books, maps and paintings on all aspects of Art, Culture and Literature. The Encyclopaedia Britannica in its survey of the Libraries of the world mentions this as "the most remarkable Library in India".

They perserve all kinds of old materials like palm leafs etc... This is write place to give your friend rare collections.
The website address for that library

Dear Friends
A friend of mine in Delhi has a collection of about 100 rare books manuscripts & palm leaves, mostly in Tamil left by his father.
He wants to donate them to some institution that may preserve it for future use. Digitisation is one of the options also.
Do you know of libraries where he can try? Any leads will be appreciated. My own efforts have not yielded any results.
Regards
