Dear Sir, UGC Commitee in its recomendations has not provided the benefits of the higher education i.e. M. Phil. & Ph.D. to the Librarians. Advance increments of higher education are only for Asstt. Professors (Lecturer) not for Librarians similarly relaxation of one and two years ffor M. Phil and Ph.D. holders for mooving in senior sacle has not been recomended for Librarians. All the professionals and professional association should raise their voice against this discrimination. This is not only matter of money but also our status. Fedaration of Association of UniversityTeachers has earlier demanded the same and requested to the head of the UGC Commitee to grant the same benefits to the Librarians and DPE. the federation has demanded to change the designation of Librarian as Lecturer (now as Asstt.
