Dear All, With reference to the above posting, as the moderator of the LIS-Forum discussion list, I would like to draw the attention of all the members on points mentioned below: 1. While making a fresh posting to the lis-forum, do not merely use the 'Reply' command to an existing lis-forum mail. Instead, use the 'Compose a new mail' command, or something equivalent, on your email client, provide a suitable 'Subject' to your mail, and make sure that you provide your affiliation details. 2. Members receiving lis-forum mails in 'Digest' mode, when they have to reply to a specific mail in the digest, make sure to modify the 'Subject' of the mail to which they are replying to. If they fail to do that, the 'Subject' of such mails would appear similar to the 'Subject' of this mail. In the process, the thread of the original mail is lost. Also, they should discard rest of the mails from the digest other than the one to which reply is being made. 3.If the posting meant for lis-forum has to be be sent to number of other lists, or individuals, kindly use the 'Bcc' option instead of Cc. When the 'Cc' option is used, all the email IDs in the 'Cc' will be part of the lis-forum posting, which is unnecessary. I hope that all the members will take note of the above points, and adhere to them so that the moderator doesn't have to spend more time than required in moderating lis-forum mails. With best wishes for the new year 2018, Sincerely, Francis Francis Jayakanth Moderator, LIS-Forum JRD Tata Memorial Library IISc, Bengaluru-560012 francis@iisc.ac.in From: lis-forum-bounces@ncsi.iisc.ernet.in <lis-forum-bounces@ncsi.iisc.ernet.in> on behalf of mouni@nitt.edu <mouni@nitt.edu> Sent: 01 January 2018 10:51 To: lis-forum@ncsi.iisc.ernet.in Subject: Re: [LIS-Forum] LIS-Forum Digest, Vol 177, Issue 33 Dear Friends, SALIS, Library professional Association, Tamil Nadu started drafting representation to MHRD for restoring the status of Librarian of NITs, IITs, NCTE and other institution in the country.
