Dear All, Learning is a continuous process. It is beyond age, time, space etc. etc. What is essential to learn (anything not only English language) in my view is to have "motivation within" that will provide 'ways and means to reach the goal'. Where there is a 'will' there is a way. I always consider teachers as mentors (meant to guide/refine the ideas/thought provoking etc. etc.) but not to spoon feed the students. Learning any language is not a great deal, but the person who want to improve should really be interested in excelling their potential. Any professional must acquire what his/her job DEMANDS, if they really want to be a true professional. For eg.: I had part of my schooling in Kannada medium but it was not a problem for me to pick up English. At the same time, I am basically a Biologist (M.Sc.), I picked up computers, library science (includes digital library), social sciences, Intellecutal Property Rights etc.. I am slowly picking up Journalism. My job demands all this, hence I tried to pick up what is needed to execute my job efficiently. What is really needed is motivation within. That is it. If this is not there, nothing can have impact on a person. Thank you, Regards, A.V. Nagarathna
