Opportunity for Library Professional Traineeship

The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) Library is looking for young, dynamic, tech- savvy, highly motivated and committed FRESH Post-Graduates in Library & Information Science from recognized Indian universities with consistent good academic record, to serve as Library Professional Trainee purely on a temporary basis for one year. Persons having good communication and interpersonal skills with enthusiasm and passion to learn new skills and deliver services using emerging new tools and technology will be preferred.
Essential Qualifications: Masters in Library & Information Science (M.L.I.Sc.) or equivalent with First Class
Nature of Traineeship: Learn while you work on different functions & services of the library using emerging tools and technologies. Unlimited opportunities to explore, learn and contribute. Mentored by senior & experienced professionals. Offers an environment, culture and opportunities to enable you to develop yourself as a well-rounded LIS professional.
Duration: The duration of traineeship will be for one year from the date of joining.
Remuneration: Consolidated stipend of Rs. 28,000/- per month.
The selected candidates will work from Monday-Saturday (six days a week) and should be ready to work in different shifts and weekends on a rotation basis.
Selection of candidates will be based on their consistent good academic record, performance in the written test and personal interview.
Number of Trainees to be admitted: FIVE
Age Limit: Not exceeding 26 years as 13th June, 2025 (the last date for submitting an application). Relaxation for SC, ST and PwD category candidates (up to Age Limit-31 years) and OBC category (up to Age Limit-29 years) will be applicable as per Govt. of India rules. Age may be relaxed in the case of an exceptionally good candidate.
Note:
· Interested candidates who meet the above mentioned requirements may submit their application, with an updated CV & photograph through ONLINE form on or before 13th June, 2025 along with a scanned copy of all required documents, as ONE File.
· The ONLY shortlisted candidates will be called to appear for the Written Test.
· The written test will be in English.
· The dates for the written test will be announced in due course of time and the details for the same will be sent to shortlisted candidates via e-mail.
· Based on the performance in the written test, selected candidates will be called for an Interview on the same day.
· Candidates are requested to send one set of scanned copies of all relevant certificates in support of date of birth, qualifications, category etc. along with application form & CV as ONE FILE.

· Selected candidates will be provided hostel accommodation (subject to availability) on a shared basis on/off campus on a chargeable basis and will also get OPD medical facility.

Candidates who have appeared for their final year examination and are expecting the results before the test & interview date may also apply, but must produce the final marks sheet at the time of test & interview, in proof of them having passed the examination in FIRST CLASS without which the candidate will not be shortlisted for written test.
