Dear Sir/Madam, This is a valid suggestion. Some of the Indian LIS journals have their own custom-made citation styles which often requires lot of time from the authors side to prepare manually. If as Mr. Vimal Kumar has suggested for following established international standard citation styles such as APA, MLA or Chicago style of citations or other similar citations styles it is easier for authors to import or create citations using online reference management tools without spending much of time in preparing them. Not only Indian LIS journals but many universities in India doesn't have clear policy in preparing doctoral dissertations and the kind of citation styles should be followed in citing references. It is high time that Indian journals and academic institutions should follow international standards of citations to ease the time involved in preparing references for manuscript and dissertations.
