Dear All, Its a very good practice that SHPT School of Library Science, SNDT Women's University, Mumbai has 3 days internship programme as a part of the BLISc course. I would like to suggest / recommend that all LIS schools should provide atleast "six month internship" in BLIS OR MLIS. If required LIS school can cutdown the few traditional subject(s). Let the student learn practically instead theory. By this students will get handson experience. Like other professional courses LIS also introduce the internship. What LIS schools shall do for improvement of Curriculum: 1. Work more towards marketing of our products/students. 2. Introduction of Communication skills to meet the MNCs requirements. 3. Introduce or Enhance the KM subject. 4. Teaching of office automation and Library softaware in depth. 5. Introduce the Long term internship (atleast 6 months) by that the students will more information about the field before joining the workforce. 6. Start inviting corporate sectors, Good B-schools, etc. for campus interview both for internship as well as placement.
