Dear Divya ,

Idea of mapping of interest will surely work, in addition to this if we could organize some quiz, group discussions and book exhibitions that could be a result oriented. Even a Phd work could be initiated on promoting reading habits.Reading habits could be promoted when library services would be qualitative and interesting which inculcate them to visit library and read somthg.

Promotg the reading habits is the issue among all academic community and we library professionals should come forward to play the lead role.

Dear All,
Its really a crucial part of librarianship, we should discussed and search out some important and special ideas for improving the reading habits. I have a suggestion regarding this
!. We should maintain a user profile(Specially for faculty, researchers and special users, where we mapping their interest areas. after this as any material come to our library we can inform the concern user through a mail, by this they will feel special attention towards them and they'll come to read to the library.
I think this idea will work, what all you thinks.
