Respected all LIS Professionals, The last date to receive application and demand draft for the *National Workshop on* *Research ethics, Academic writing and data analysis *has been extended to 27th February 2015 as we have received lot of request to extend the date. *W*e are happy to announce that the Central Library, College of Engineering Thalassery is organizing *3 Days National Level Workshop on* *Research ethics, Academic writing and data analysis **(Two days hands in sessions on SPSS with AMOS**)* The objective of the Workshop is to enable the participants to understand research ethics, academic writing tools need for statistical tools in research, and to impart the data analytical capabilities of project leaders, business analysts, faculty, research scholars and post graduate students. The Workshop is scheduled to be held from 06. 03. 2015 to 08. 03. 2015. Selected candidates shall be intimated accordingly. *College of Engineering Thalassery* The College of Engineering, Thalassery is one of the earliest colleges started by the CAPE under Govt. of Kerala. It is started functioning in the year 2000. The college is situated on the top of a panoramic hill called Kundoormala and is six kilometers away from Thalassery town and is just 1.5 kilometers north from Thalassery – Coorg State High Way, which cuts to the college road at Nayanar Road Junction. The college is recognized by the AICTE and affiliated to Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) Cochin. There are six branches of engineering in the B. Tech. and Two M. Tech. programmes. It has become one of the biggest engineering colleges in the northern part of Kerala. The college has been selected for the grant of aid under phase II of the TEQIP and the workshop is being conducted under this programme. Central Library has a very good collection of Books, CDs, Journals, archives and E- documents. Library subscribes more than 100 print Journals and 7 packages of online journals such as ASME, IEEE, Mc- Graw Hill, Elsevier, Wiley, J-gate etc. The Central Library is fully automated since 2010 by using GRANDA Library Automation Software. Now we are shifted to KOHA Integrated Library System. We are also in the path of Digitalization by using D Space. *Workshop content* During the three days of the workshop, the participants will be given knowledge in research ethics, and the tools used in Academic writing. Hands on training sessions will be given on the use of various literature search tools. Final two days will be meant for SPSS training. SPSS is statistical software suitable for data analysis. *Eligibility* Target participants of the Workshop are Faculty members, Library and Information Professionals, Project coordinators and research scholars (Part- time) form Academic, R & D institutions/ industries.
