[LIS-Forum] Library periods at schools.

Can any kind and knowledgeable soul please clarify to me whether a weekly library period is mandatory at all Govt. and Govt. aided schools. Would greatly appreciate having a confirmation of this in connection with a project I am involved with at Yadgir with school libraries. Thank you.
