Dr. T. D. Tilwani, an accomplished library professional with background in
Mathematics and proficiency in foreign languages of French and German, retired
as Head, Department of Library and Information Science (LIS), UCSSH, Mohan Lal
Sukhadia University, Udaipur (Rajasthan) after a long academic career. Dr
Tilwani is known for his outstanding performance as a teacher and significant
contributions in the field of Library and Information Science.
His research interest included Knowledge Management, Application of IT in
Library and Information Centres, Digitization of Library Resources, Information
Seeking Patterns and their Models, Marketing of Information, Information
Processing and its Management, E-resources, Digital Libraries, Library
software, Library resource sharing, etc., having authored two books apart from
dozens of research papers published in reputed journals. He is also an active
participant in conferences organized to deliberate on Library and Information
Science. For development of library profession he participated as life member
of professional bodies such as ILA, IASLIC, RLA, etc., and also felicitated by
the Deputy State Minister of Education, Government of Rajasthan for his
excellent work in the profession of LIS.
In order to pay our tribute to Dr T. D. Tilwani we have thought it would be
right and rational to bring out a Volume in his honour comprising articles
related to our field and related disciplines along with memoirs and personal
experiences about him. We, therefore, earnestly appeal to you to contribute a
paper on topic among the following:
