Dear All,

The best option is to address the issues of the professionals at all levels through the same forum/Association(s), rather than mushrooming more such outfits for every grade of staff. After all, the qualified professionals will move up the ladder in the career... Are they expected to then change over to new Associations every now and then?

Associations should instead, adopt a holistic approach, to protect the interests of all the professionals for the healthy functioning of the profession vis-a-vis the system.

Time has come to have a federated approach and discussion by different Associations on common career-related issues.

Dear Dr. Tariq

I know very well that the memorandum has been prepared in the light of terms of reference of UGC-PRC which covers only AL onward positions, but the question is which association will take care of other library professionals. Is there a need to constitute another library association for the lower staff which can raise pay related issues.
