Sir,
Regarding Jayanthi Rajkumar Kumbhar's message on Book lost and
replacement.
I fully agree with the Sri P.Munuswamy's(NITT) opinion, more over if the
book goes out of print a xerox copy of the book may be replaced (to fill
the gap the subject) with the amount collected from the candidate who lost
the book, For this type activities a clear policy is to be laid down by
the apex body of the institute. Replacing some other book in the place of
book lost is completely ruled out.

Dear All,
In response to Jayanthi Rajkumar Kumbhar message on Book lost and replacement. It is informed that if a book is lost by a user, he/she may replace it by the same title, author and with same edition or higher edition. If the book is a library edition (Hardbound), it is to be replaced by the hard bound title only and not by the cheap edition of the title. If not, double the cost of the book is to be recovered from the user with occurred dues if any. It would be better to have a policy on the matter included in the Library policy approved by the apex authority of the institution.
If the librarian accepts a different title for the lost one, she/he will be held for the same and have to face the consequences.
With regards,
P. Mounissamy National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli Tamil Nadu
