TERI in collaboration with Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF) as knowledge partner is organizing a workshop on "Creative Librarian 2.0: Connect, Collaborate and Share Knowledge using Social Media Platform" from 06-07 August 2015 at TERI, India Habitat Center, New Delhi aimed at equipping the LIS (library and information science) professionals with state-of-the art skills and knowledge to meet current and recent challenges in this dynamic knowledge society. The workshop programme has been developed in guidance with eminent subject experts to promote continuous improvement of core competency skills of the participants. The pedagogy of this workshop will include tutorial-type presentations, demonstrations, hands-on sessions with Case studies/best practices, and will cover following topics: Role of Creative librarians in digital era Social media tools for library marketing and user services Library strategies for Social media: Planning and risk management Creating library presence on internet Hands- on training & troubleshooting Resource Persons: Resource persons will be drawn from leading practitioners and academicians who have successfully implemented or executed Social Media Platforms to enrich the researchers and end-users. Participants: The workshop is intended for library and information professionals, knowledge managers, information entrepreneurs, and e-content developers with some experience of social media in the workplace; beginners can also be benefitted with this. In order to provide individual attention and training facilities, the workshop shall be confined to limited number of participants not exceeding 30 (Thirty).
