MANIPAL VARSITY BIDS TO PROMOTE RESEARCH Manipal University Students' Research Forum (MUSRF) conducted a 20-day training programme in Manipal recently to cultivate interest in research among students. Prateek Jain, President of MUSRF, said the programme motivated the participants to pursue research in their respective fields and simultaneously collaborate with other specialists. A press release said here that the training was divided into health sciences and technical sciences modules. In the health sciences module, the participants learnt about the latest instrumentation techniques, methodologies and thrust research areas in the departments of pharmaceutical sciences, life sciences, dental sciences, allied health sciences and medical sciences for 10 days. Each department presented its vision, recent research interests, and its contribution to the healthcare sector. It was followed by 10-day training in the technical science departments. The participants were able to learn simple techniques of engineering. It also involved laboratory visits to departments of atomic and molecular physics, biomedical sciences and other instrumentation facilities, the release added.
