We have programmes related to Library, fellowship, and Book acquisition etc. ABOUT THE ORGANISATION Named after Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, one of the most prominent and dynamic Prime Ministers of India, the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute was conceived and later found its germination and edifice in 1968 through a mutual proclamation of the governments of Canada and India. The aim is to further the bi-national ethos through different programmes facilitating scholarly research and exchanges between the Indian and Canadian Universities, Cultural organisations, Government Bodies. The Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute has its offices in Calgary and in Delhi. ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP The internship is a learning opportunity for students who are interested in understanding the functioning of a bi-national entity, the programme(s) that the organization administers, and the processes involved in administering/ implementing a programme. It is a voluntary/ unpaid position and therefore there is no financial commitment on the part of Shastri Indo- Canadian Institute, though payment for local conveyance may be considered. About the Intern The intern should meet the following criteria. - Should not be less than 18 years of age - Should be able to give atleast 2 hours for three days in a week - Should be able to commit for three weeks - Should be comfortable and be able to prepare and document reports in English (if need be) - Should be conversant/ familiar with computer operations - Should be able to adapt to the office environment and be open to learning (The intern/ volunteer shall have to adhere to office norms and discipline during his/her period of internship). Placement/ Engagement The intern shall be placed in a function/ department depending on his / her qualification, skills and interest.
