Dear Mr. Soni Migration of data from Koha to NewGenLib or from NewGenLib to Koha is quite simple because both of these FLOSS based LMSs are quite clear and transparent in implementing MARC 21 and ISO-2709 (unlike some commercial LMSs in India where data transformation facilities are poor, non-standard and sometimes blocked intentionally for obvious commercial reasons). However if u feel you need help then there are a few service providers in India like OSSLabs (http://www.osslabs.biz/), OpenLX etc. Dr. Parthasarathi Mukhopadhyay Department of Library and Information Science University of Burdwan, Burdwan, Rajbati - 713104, WB ----- Original Message ----- From: "Navin Soni" To: koha-devel@lists.koha.org, lis-forum@ncsi.iisc.ernet.in Subject: [LIS-Forum] Data Conversion form Newgenlib to koha Date: Wed, 1 Apr 2009 14:07:14 +0530 Dear Professionals, Goog Mrng.. We are from INMAS, DRDO, Delhi. Presently we are using newgenlib (OSS), we had tried a lot to give AMC to Newgenlib developers (M/s Verus Solutions) at normal rates but they did not responded positive. We library people are not expertise in JAVA and supporting softwares of Newgenlib therefore now it is not possible us to continue work without technical support. As this software constantly requires technical support which we are not able to find out who may take AMC of this Newgenlib software. Now may I request on this forum who can guide us how to overcome this problem of AMC. In alternative, we are planning to either switch over to KOHA and migrate our records into KOHA 2.2.9 ver. or wait for any agency who can undertake the AMC of Newgenlib. I request all my fellow professionals on this forum to guide me in this regard. Waiting for help and guidance.
