'Haravu Sir' is the name known to SDMIMD Library team. Right from NewGenLib to Omeka and from Galileo Galilei to Bhagavad Gita - we can discuss; and, the final 12 to 15 minutes conclusion was by Haravu Sir. Tech-savvy, Communicator, Good Negotiator, Thinker, Straight Forward, and ability to Think Library with Technology is Shri. Lakshminarasimh Jayaram Haravu. We are familiar with his book *Library Automation: Design, Principles and Practice*. Less known, he was a good story-teller, the 2 books published in 2017 - *Eavesdropping: A Collection of Short Stories and Poems*; and *Yardsticks of Happiness and Other Stories* - are the classic examples of his stronghold in English; the art of storytelling and an Author. The '*Verses in a Vedantic Vein*' is the outcome of his learning from Vedas and Upanishads. In early 2018, he wanted to learn Drupal. Much of our discussion on WhatsApp happens on the features and problems in this Content Management System. He wanted to design a website for 'Kesavan Institute of Information and Knowledge Management' for which he was a Managing Trustee (he sent 5 smileys when it was pointed out it is mentioned as Manading Trustee in the site... it is still there as it is in http://www.kiikm.org/). Unfortunately, his health didn't support to complete the website which he was so passionate to dedicate to Late Shri. B.S. Kesavan, the First National Librarian. Sharing the last WhatsApp message received from Haravu Sir. His recent interest was on learning Sanskrit to write on Bhagavad Gita and Upanishad. He was quite active in quora https://www.quora.com/profile/Haravu-Lakshminarasimh-Jayaram and his last post was on Jan 26, 2020. WhatsApp Message: ----------------------------------------------------------- Oh! Where have we lost our gratitude? There is so that much to be grateful for; That we take for granted; So little conscious gratitude we have; In our pseudo-scientific minds. We think of the Sun as a ball of fire; How elegant was the view of the ancients? Who saw the Sun as the God Surya: The giver of heat and light and life. So also with water the very stuff of life; Their gratitude to all of nature was integral To the minds of the sages; They lived and died in eternal gratitude. ----------------------------------------------------------- Haravu Sir, SDMIMD miss your guidance, concern and support SDMIMD Library Team On Wed, Mar 4, 2020 at 5:53 PM chudamani kuppahalli < kschudamani@rediffmail.com> wrote:

It’s sad to hear the news about the sudden death of Shri Haravu. He is indeed a great library professional and a true ICT expert apart from being a loving and unassuming human being. I am proud and lucky to be associated with him as a friend.
We have really lost a great library professional of our time. May his soul rest in peace.
