Seminar cum Workshop on “Web Resources in Social Science Research”<br />
The Department of Library and Information Science (University of <br />
Kashmir) in collaboration with “Indian Council of Social Science <br />
Research” (ICSSR), North Western Region, Chandigarh and U.G.C Academic <br />
Staff College (University of Kashmir) is organizing a three day <br />
seminar/workshop on “Web Resources in Social Science Research” for <br />
teachers and research scholars of Social Sciences belonging to <br />
universities and colleges of the ‘North Western Region of India’ from <br />
15-17 March, 2010. The workshop will focus  on  emerging Web resources,  <br />
their  format , discovery,  effectiveness and authencity in diverse <br />
fields of Social Sciences, besides  providing  opportunity  to <br />
participants in gaining valuable insights, exchange ideas, explore new <br />
opportunities and build new web enabled networks.<br />
The department invites teachers, research scholars and other stake <br />
holders from Social Science disciplines to contribute a paper or <br />
participate in the event to share their ideas and enrich themselves of <br />
the latest trends in the Social Science research.<br />
We are also enclosing herein the registration form which should reach <br />
to us by or before February 25, 2010.<br />

6.	Web Resources: Evaluation, Management and Citation Patterns<br />
7.	Plagiarism in the web Era: Status and challenges.<br />

Important Dates<br />
Paper Submission Deadline: February 15, 2010<br />
Notification of Acceptance: February 25, 2010<br />
Seminar/Workshop Date: March 15-17, 2010.<br />
Note:<br />
	All the papers should be submitted to the department either <br />
online at the following e-mail address shafi_sm@rediffmail.com or <br />
sumeersuheel@gmail.com or handed over personally to Director/Head of <br />
the Department/Organising Secretary.<br />
	Teachers, Scholars and other stakeholders can also participate <br />
without contributing a paper. The registration in such case is open up <br />
to March 10, 2010. However, it will be based on first come first serve <br />
basis.<br />
Registration<br />
Teachers and other Stakeholders:      Rs. 1000.00 or (Rs.500.00 for <br />
Paper Contributors)<br />
Research Scholars:  Rs 500.00<br />
(The registration fee includes seminar kit, working lunch and <br />
refreshment)<br />
Mode of Payment: Payment can be made in cash or through demand draft <br />
/cheque drawn in favour of Head, Department of Library and Information <br />
Science, University of Kashmir.<br />
Accommodation: Outstation participants can apply for accommodation and <br />
can avail the same on first come basis in the University Guest Houses. <br />
However, outside accommodation can also be made on request in <br />
economical Guest Houses and hotels.<br />
