Dear Professionals,
We are happy to inform you that the *EMPI Digital Library National
Convention 2007 ( EMPIDLNC2007)* has received an overwhelming intellectual
response not only from National but also from International Information
Resource Centre Communities and created a Global Forum for discussing
future Knowledge & Learning Resource Centres.
For us, it is a most rewarding attainment. It is also for us a great sense
of accomplishment in view of the fact that *EMPIDLNC2007* in its first
years of start on received high quality and substantial quantity research
papers, which was also one of the set objectives of Board of Governance of
EMPIDLNC. The Contributors for the Research Papers for *EMPIDLNC2007* are
eminent scholars and professionals representing not only prestigious
Institutions/Research Organizations/Organizations like IITs, IIMs, IISc,
DRDO, UNIC, Judiciary, Central Universities and Institutions etc. but also
from Corporate like TCS, Oxford University Press (UK), KnowGenesis Online
Library for Technical Communication, etc.
Scheduling the two days Conference Programme from *18th March, 2007* to
*20 th March, 2007* and meeting the expectations, in terms of the quality
inputs and experiential learning, of the participants and the author/s,
EMPI DLNC Boards have constituted a high profile academic and practicing
professionals and speakers team from internationally acclaim Educational
and Research Institutions from India like IITs, IIMs, DRTC Bangalore, Top
Universities etc. We are also looking forward for your participation in
this Convention.
The two days Convention which is being scheduled from *18th March, 2007*
to *20th March, 2007* at *India International Centre*, *40*, *Max Mueller
Marg*, *New Delhi 110003 *will be comprised with Four Technical Sessions,
Each Covering five/six paper presentations along with the presentation of
theme paper, Two Tutorial Sessions on Digital Libraries Fundamental and
Advance Concepts and Two Panel Discussions on Reforming of LIS Education
and Skills requirements for future Information Centre's Professionals
respectively. The Four Technical Sessions covered:
*(1) *e-Resource, e-Services Governance and Users Experiences.
*(2) *Digital Library: Management, Policies, and Practicing Issues
*(3) *Developing and Managing Library Network.
*(4) *Digital Library: Project Management, Technology Selection and
Deployment & Governance of Digital Library Services.
Your participation in the *EMPI Digital Library National Convention �
2007*and sharing of experiences will, more than providing a platform for
building of mutual synergies, help in developing the preferred roadmap to
guide the Indian Information Centres to support the efforts of all our
countrymen to make India a top class knowledge society.
Please do send us confirmation about your joining us in this endeavour. In
case of your inability to participate you may like to inform and persuade
your colleagues and friends to join us in the proposed National
convention.
