[LIS-Forum] Call for Felicitations from SALIS

      Dear friends,
You have totally mistaken the SALIS announcement of Felicitation. Following
is the text of the SALIS Announcement:

" I am happy to inform you all that SALIS Puducherry Chapter is going
to organize
a Felicitation programme to Honour the Ph.D. Awardees/NET/SET holders/Retired
professionals as part of “*One day National Workshop on Scholarly Writing &
Research Ethics*” on 25.04.2020 at the French Institute of Pondicherry,
Pondicherry.   Those who have completed SET/NET/PhD after January 2013 and
also have retired after January 2013 will be felicitated and honoured in the
 function "
SALIS has a healthy practice of felicitating those who have completed their
PhDs, or cleared NET/SLET to encourage and promote professionals to upgrade
their   qualifications.

If they do not call for applications from that region how can they come to
know the list of people qualify for this Felicitation?

Anyway, I agree with the other two postings that National Awards and Life
Time Achievement Awards nominations may dilute the purpose.

Still I feel that, how the organisation which desires to recognise people
know one is better than other?

So we can invite recommendations from other professionals about the best
qualified person for such Felicitations.

However, this is subject to opinion of others on the forum

The opinion of Dr. GOPAKUMAR sir is correct, many of the Associations,
colleges/universities(especially Tamilnad region) have practiced this
unfair habit of felicitation(apply and get felicitate themselves). This may
spoil our profession, especially those who have undeserved (no
contributions to our profession) get this type of felicitated photo/momento
and same may show it to their institutions and getting influenced. This is
really a bad practice and must stop. This is only my opinion. Please
think about it.

CALL FOR PAPER
Prospective authors are invited to submit their manuscripts on any one of
the thrust areas. Papers should be in Times New Roman font and include a
title (font size 14 bold), name of the author, affiliation, e-mail (font
size 12 bold), line spacing - single. The full-length papers should not
exceed 4000 words along with the indicative abstract within 300 words and
5-7 keywords. References within the text and at the end of the paper should
follow APA style, 6th edition. Manuscripts should be submitted through
e-mail (*.doc format) to seminar.ssce@gmail.com
The Review Committee reserves all the rights to accept, modify or reject
the articles without any prior intimation. The Review Committee accepts no
responsibility for the statements and opinions expressed by the
contributors.
Selected papers will be published by a renowned national level publisher
with ISBN.
