Dear All, Greetings of the day... TERI Library and Information Center organized a half day interactive seminar entitled Looking Back, Moving Forward: Open Access Movements at the Crossroads at TERI, New Delhi. The aim of this seminar was to sensitize the research fraternity on the challenges and opportunities related to Open Access Movements at National level. The event focused on how researchers should get wide access to the scientific data and research publications in the open access domain. The special address was delivered by Mr Denis Dambois, Head, Research and Innovation, European Union, India. Mr Denis highlighted the breakthroughs and initiatives of EU in the promotion of Open Access and Policy Implications in the European countries. Dr Sudha Gopalakrishnan, Director, Sahapaedia who talked about the initiative’s taken for promoting Indian Culture and Heritage and also issues and concerns related to open access development. Dr T Madhan Mohan, Advisor to Department of Biotechnology Government of India he is the men who institutionalized the Open Access Policy in India nicely explained the Open Access citing examples of DST and DBT and the initiatives taken by Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of Indian in this regard.
