Dear professionals,

Karnataka Medical Library Association ® (KMLA) was established during the year 1993.

Based on the recommendations of the conference 2008 the following requests have already been implemented:

  1. Considering “Librarian as a Teacher” by RGUHS, Karnataka, Bangalore and inclusion of health science librarians as bonafide voters for the ensuing Senate Elections as per the Judgement of High Court of Karnataka. We appreciate your efforts in up-loading your name as a bonafide voter under “List of teachers other than professors” in the electoral roll and has been accepted by the RGUHS.
  2. Up to-date Renewal of Registration of the KMLA  since 2000-2008 under Co-Operative society Act of Karnataka Government.
  3.  Uniform pay scales to all the health science librarians on par with other college librarians, and formulation of C & R rules ; A committee has been formed to look into it & prepare a Memorandum to the DME, Health Secretary and Minister of Medical Education, Government of Karnataka. The same will be submitted before the end of this month.

In view of all the welfare activities of the association, it is necessary to have a sizeable strength in the membership of the association. Hence  I am requesting the Health Science Librarians  to enroll as a ‘LIFE MEMBER” of the association by paying Rs.1000/- (Rs.One thousand Only).
