NWNG2009: National Workshop on NewGenLib Open Source- Integrated Library System (OS-ILS): 26 – 29 March 2009 http://nwng2009.synthasite.com/ As you are kindly aware that the University of Mysore established in the year 1816 has been immensely responsible for the spread of higher education ever since the days of the erstwhile Mysore State. Being accredited as one the best Universities by the NAAC recently, it has also been bestowed with a special grant by the Ministry of Human Resources Development to lift the quality of higher education to even greater heights of intellectual proficiency. The Department of Library and Information Science came into existence during 1965. Supported by a SAP-UGC grant, it has been successfully running MLISc, M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes over the last 44 years. In its rich history of 45 years, the department has organized several national and international seminars and workshops. The Department of Library and Information Science in association with UGC-SAP is now planning a National Workshop on NewGenLIB Open Source Integrated Library System (OS-ILS) between 26 – 29 March 2009. The main purpose of the workshop is to impart practical training in automation, house-keeping activities to library professionals using the NewGenLib OS-ILS.
