The last date for EOI submission for empanelment of organizations and agencies has been extended to 21st October 2010. Also minor modifications have been incorporated in the EOI document in eligibility criteria. For example:
· In 4.4 , the sentence Organization’s annual turn over…5 crore... should be read as “The organisation’s annual turnover should not be less than Rs.1 Crore per annum from the IT consultancy and IT Support services during each of the last three years”
“Organisation should have minimum 25 regular IT/LIS professionasl as employees working in India”
· In 4.7, Evaluation of EOI… should be read as “Experience and expertise in Software Rollout and Implementation”

Dear friends,
I thought it useful to communicate to Library Science organizations and agencies this below published notice of Expression of Interest (EOI) for Empanelment of Agencies for Rolling Out of eGranthalaya Software. Last date is 11th October 2010 upto 3 PM.
As you may be aware that eGranthalaya ( http://egranthalaya.nic.in ) is a Digital Agenda of National Informatics Centre (NIC) for Automation and Networking of libraries and building Digital Library. Software is provided free of cost to libraries on request. Till date thousands of libraries are using the software in different parts of India and many more in the pipeline.
With the emphasis on automation and networking of libraries as a part of e-Governance to reach far flung areas of the country, the demand for support services for implementation has increased manifold. Towards this objective, it is proposed to empanel organizations/ agencies of repute for providing Rollout services for eGranthalaya software. This project spans whole of the country.
National Informatics Centre Services Inc. (NICSI) ( http://nicsi.nic.in/ ) is as a section 25 Company under NIC.
NICSI has published the EOI for E-Granthalaya last week. Tender can be seen on NICSI website at ‘TENDER’ page at http://nicsi.nic.in/corrigendum.php?tId=144 .
