Dr. Gaur is young, energetic, dedicated LIS professional and have worked in various esteemed academic & special libraries of the country such as IMT, MDI, TIFR, etc. His expertise and knowledge have also been recognized at the international level. He has contributed many research articles, authored and edited 3 books and delivered many lectures on various aspects of Library & information science particularly on Automation, Digitization and Digital Archiving.

Formation of Ranganathan Research Circle (RRC) as its Founder Covenor and Life Trustee-Ranganathan Research Trust are some of his major contributions to LIS Profession. Recently he has also been nominated to Delhi Library Board (Delhi Public Library Governing body) as its member.

Considering the above, the award given to him as the token of recognition of his dedicated work & contribution to the Library & information science profession.
