*“Prof. Khaiser Jahan Begum Felicitation Gold Medal”* Prof. Khaiser Jahan Begum*, *Chairperson DOS in Library and Information Science, University of Mysore, Mysuru superannuated on 30th September 2019. She joined the Department of Library and information Science on 11th Feb’ 1980. During her active service of nearly 40 years she rose to the position of dynamic professor and served as a head four times. She had a short stint as a founder head at Akkamahadevi Women’s University, Vijayapura. Prof. Khaiser madam is not only distinguished professor, but an efficient administrator and great research scientist in the field of Library and Information Science. She is known for her excellent teaching, innovations, creativity and motivating young library professionals. She has represented the university in international fora many times. She has successfully guided 16 PhDs, written 18 books and contributed more than 350 research papers, which are well cited by many others across the world. For her seminal research papers, she always received enquiries from Europe and other countries, which is worth noting. On the occasion of the superannuation of Prof.Khaiser Jahan Begum, the research scholars and alumni have contributed 1,00,000 (Rupees One Lakh only) plus 5,000 (Five Thousand Only as current interest) for gold medal in the name of Prof. Khaiser Jahan Begum. The DD’s were presented to Prof. R. Shivappa, Registrar, University of Mysore, who were at the department to felicitate madam and preside over the felicitation function on 30th September 2019 at 4.00pm On behalf of MyDLIS, Research Scholars and other alumni, I take this opportunity to place on record the institution of the Gold Medal in the name of madam which is called as *“Prof. Khaiser Jahan Begum Felicitation Gold Medal”. *I therefore, thank each and everybody who has supported us and made it possible.
