Dear All, We are inviting academic and private libraries to participate in this free of charge pilot. Why LibraryGPT Experience with ChatGPT has demonstrated that user may be less inclined to search using search interfaces as provided by OPAC and search engines. Users are more likely to use natural language to converse with the search engine to get their search results. How it works Institution homepage, Library, and digital repository homepages will have a Chat interface. We have developed and tested a LibraryGPT, a custom GPT model specific to library catalog, holding, and circulation data using college library datasets. We have used LibraryGPT on top of Koha ILMS. We are inviting interested academic and private libraries to join us for a month-long testing and evaluation to understand search behavior among the patrons using standard OPAC search compared to use of natural language-based search. Libraries should be using Koha and ideally have medium to high daily usage, e.g., 100 – 400 searches. We intend to work with 10 libraries in India.
