Friends, I have a few questions. I will be grateful for answers. 1. When will STI 2020 (promised as the 5th edition of India's science policy) be released? The draft was ready and final in mid December of 2000. Some of my friends, Rahul Siddharthan, Arul Scaria, Francis Jayakanth and many others were involved in the preparation of the chapter dealing with scholarly communication and open access. 2. A suggestion was made as far back as 2004 0r 2005 that the Government should mandate open access archiving of all research papers resulting from public funding. Why is it not happening even after two decades? 3. What is the current status of ONOS? The past three years librarians were told in December/January to subscribe to journals and they all had to do it in a hurry. 4. What is the current status of NIC's OA journals platform for Indian medical journals. ? Who is the key person there?
