Studies show that questionable journals are being particularly accessed by authors from developing countries, including India. The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has tasked the three-member committee set up to review the nation's academic performance to also prepare national guidelines for ethical research publications. But, stealing a march over other varsities in this process, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has warned its research scholars to steer clear of at least 700 predatory journals and publishers, to start with.
