In the recently announced 5th Academic Achievement Awards 2017 of EET CRS-EducationexpoTV Research Wing for Excellence in Professional Education and Industry, Dr. R. Guruprasad, Senior Tecnical Officer of Center for Civil Aircraft Design and Development, CSIR-NAL, Bangalore has been awarded 'Excellence in Research' combined with a 'Honorable Mention Certificate' under the 'Special Achievement Category' for his outstanding contributions to 'Aerospace Information Management'. Dr Guruprasad's pioneering contributions has been in the area of Information Management and Information Dissemination to IAF pilots through Real-Time Digital Videography of critical parameters on aircraft behaviour. This is primarily related to CSIR-NAL's SARAS, India's 14 Seater Multi-Role Aircraft. The work has been highly lauded by the IAF pilots. His contributions also extends in providing high quality aircraft milestone documentation support to the Center for Civil Aircraft Design and Development, CSIR-NAL. Dr. R. Guruprasad holds a MLIS Degree from Annamalai University and a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from the University of Mysore. He has two books, several book chapters, international journal publications, conference presentations in the domain of Library and Information Science.
