I deeply mourn the sad, untimely demise of Dr S. S. Kumbar, Deputy Librarian, Mangalore University . Undoubtedly his death has caused an irreparable loss not only to the community of our profession but also to the students and teachers of Mangalore University . His valuable contributions to the discipline of library and information science will remain for ever in the minds of the academicians of the state.
