Development will primarily be in the areas of: Approvals and payments work-flow in Acquisitions Tighter integration of Serials Subscriptions & Acquisitions Article Indexing and Analytical records Selective Dissemination of Information The project has been initiated and significantly funded by RapidRadio Solutions, a leading RFID technology provider to libraries in India. Partial funding for analytical records has been provided by the Mississippi Department of Archives and Records in the USA. This is first case of sponsorship of Koha development by an Indian entity. Such sponsorship is fairly common in the west, and most of Koha's capabilities have been developed via such funding. RapidRadio Solutions has also prepared requirements specifications under the advice and guidance of following senior library professionals: Dr. Anil Kumar, Librarian IIMA Mr. F.R.Sumer, Deputy Librarian, NEHU Shillong. We also intend to leverage the expertise of the library community in India and the wider Koha community by conducting the project in an public manner - specifications and software will be available for review and testing by any interested party. We expect the new software to be available for use in 4-6 months time. For any questions or comments on this projects, please feel free to contact me.
