An Appeal to Observe Librarians� Day 2013
Believably all are aware and will appreciate that IASLIC, the premier
national professional society in the field of LIS took the pioneering step
to observe the Birth Anniversary of the father of Library Science, Dr. S.
R. Ranganathan every year befittingly to pay homage and tribute to this
illustrious Guru of ours. 12th August, stands as the sacred date to us to
observe by organizing seminar, symposium, discussion, etc. or in the manner
it may be feasible in a situation / environment. Since it is IASLIC which
initiated and thought it prudent to observe this Birth Anniversary first in
the country, IASLIC appeals to its members staying in all parts of the
country kindly to take initiative to organize themselves and observe
�Librarians�
Day 2013� (Ranganathan�s Birth Anniversary) in any form as the situation
may warrant.
